Anything that involves video/video editing I do at home on my iMac and then xfer over to the PC. The school is thinking about buying a computer which can handle video editing- the easiest option (for me anyway) would be buying a Mac ('cos they all come video ready & I have experience with using them).

What I do is store my "master" (first cut) video source files on a 1T server, which I clone to a backup server. I then use apps like Ulead Video Studio or Windows Movie Maker which do not alter the source files, but rather, create a virtual index into them for editing.
